This unusual Georgian snuff mull measures 150mm (6") long x 50mm (2") across and weighs 180 grams. The body is formed from horn with a very good grain and mounted with a silver hinged lid which in common with most Scottish snuffs of this period is unmarked. This example has 3 tools hanging from it on silver chains, a hammer, a perforated snuff taking spoon and a plunger which I think may have originally had bristles in it as a brush, all with silver mounts. This is a feature I have never seen before on a period snuff mull and it really makes it the complete snuff takers compendium. It is in fantastic condition with a good patina and no damage or repairs, a very rare period item This is one of two horn snuffs I am selling this week and I will always combine shipping to help with costs.
