UNUSUAL GORHAM STERLING SILVER & RUBY RED GLASS VASE

Unusual Gorham sterling and ruby red glass vase. The vase is 11" tall, glass measures 8", the mouth of the vase measures 4 3/8" diameter and is very heavy. The base measures 3" tall and the bottom diameter is 3 1/2" and unscrews from the glass vase (see photo). No scratches, chips or cracks in the glass. The base has been lightly polished but shows some tiny spots which could be removed by a good polishing. I am unsure of the age of the piece. Stamps on the bottom of the base read GORHAM STERLING, a lion (which looks like he's facing in the opposite direction of what I've normally seen), an anchor and a C, below that are the numbers 1444 and WEIGHTED, REINFORCED WITH OTHER MATERIAL.
