An unusual Arts & Crafts purple pottery figural covered pot or bowl made by Rookwood. Looks to me like a grape, so possible a jam pot. Must be somewhat rare, as I have searched for another but could not find one. Measures about 4 3/4" in height and 4 1/4" in diameter. Condition is very good, no chips, cracks or repairs, some pencil marks inside. Marked on the bottom with the Rookwood mark, "XXIII" (1923), and "2648".
