UNUSUAL SILVER BOX Oriental Woven Covered Basket

This listing is for a lovely early 1900s silver covered box shaped like a woven basket measuring 1 7/8" high and 2 1/2" wide. The entire body is engraved with a basketweave design that has an Oriental feel and sits on three small protruding feet. The top has an even smaller basketweave design with a stylized floral center decoration standing in relief. This unusual shaped box is in excellent condition although the inside rim of the top is slightly "out of round" and the outside curved sides are also not perfectly rounded. Neither of these minor flaws are obvious and are hardly noticed on this fabulous box. Although the silver is unsigned, we believe it to be Sterling. This covered box has been one of my favorites for years and comes directly from my personal collection. The workmanship is absolutely incredible! I am currently selling many silver pieces from my own 30 year collection so check our auctions for more lovely vintage pieces. We are always happy to combine packing to save on shipping charges.
