Unusual Vintage Silver Plated Teapot With Celtic Decoration c1915 mouseover to enlarge Unusual Vintage Silver Plated Teapot With Celtic Decoration c1915 A superb almost antique electroplated Britannia Metal teapot, from a maker better known for his work in Old Sheffield Plate.Made in an unusual style for the period with applied Celtic beading around the collar for deoration. Fitted with a man-made material handle and removable finial. Presented in very good - fine condition: see below for more details and definitions. Made by John Turton & Company Ltd in Sheffield. In business from 1818 until 1923. Bearing the marks used from 1910 until 1923 however, the relatively low serial number probably dates it to c1912 - 1915. Height (top of finial) 18.2cm (7¼") Capacity 1.136l (2 pints) In arguably very good - fine condition, with no damage or repairs. There is no loss of plate. Bearing the usually inherent scratches that one must reasonably expect on used pieces with so many years of loyal service under its belt. Immaculately clean internally.
