Woven Silver Basket 3 3/4" Tall Next up for auction from Dee's Of Richmond is a truly unusual find. I have collected silver and sterling for many years this one has me stumped! It is a woven basket! I am selling this as SILVERPLATE but I have a suspicion it could be solid silver T are NO MARKS OR HALLMARKS on this piece. The lightness of this piece, combined with absolutely no signs of silver loss - not to mention the workmanship of this piece (the weave is so tight this basket can practically hold water without leaking) just lead me to believe this could be sterling or at least a very high silver content. AGAIN I MAKE NO FIRM CLAIMS FOR THIS BEING ANYTHING OTHER THAN SILVERPLATE so please base your bid accordingly. Regardless it is a really lovely, unique and interesting piece. This was purchased as a pair (I am keeping the second basket myself!) at an estate sale full of beautiful things. I will be putting some of these finds up for auction in the coming weeks. I accept money orders, cashiers cheques and PAYPAL. Personal cheques on prior approval only, please. Ø In order to save my US customers money and shipping time, I ship from Canada but mail from the US at least once per week . By this I mean I charge for postage from the US plus my costs to drive packages to the US. This includes the fee I am charged by US Custom's to import items, my gas to cover a 45 minute drive/border line ups and finally packing materials such as bubble wrap, packing peanuts on fragile items. This still results in a MUCH cheaper shipping and handling charge for you versus international shipment from Canada. Ø I will gladly ship items worldwide please contact me with your address for a shipping and handling quote. Ø I make every effort to pack items both tightly and securely. In the unlikely event of damage or loss in transit, I do not accept responsibility for uninsured items . I do REQUIRE insurance to be purchased on fragile items. For US customers current USPS rates are: $1.65 up to $50, $2.05 for $50 - $100 value, $2.45 for $100-$200 value. Ø All sales are final and items are sold "AS IS". Returns will be made only if the item is not as described and pictured in the auction. Ø Local pick up on prior approval to the auction closing only. Unfortunately, I can only accommodate local pick up on expensive, very heavy or fragile items.
