A very nice 5 button blouse with eagle brass buttons, 5 in the front and 3 small one on each arm cuffs. I believe this is early 1890's era. The first sergeant stripes appear original to the coat and are in very nice condition. The cloth on the chevrons and lozenges is heavier, more like felt than the one I have seen for US Army coat. This may be an indication that this coat is of National Guard provenance. Bidders will have to be the judge and bid accordingly. Do not hesitate to ask questions prior to bidding. T is no Quartermaster Depot stamp that I could find. T are a couple of ink stamp letters inside one sleeve near the arm pit but they are not legible. The liner is in superb condition showing light use and soiling only. The sleeves are also lined with a white cloth. Each of the front buttons are neatly attached with a leather washer and each held in place by a round brass wire. T is no mothing that I could find in the cloth. T are only a couple of small holes on the left side at the second button level. One is larger being about 1/4 inch wide and a couple of smaller one around it. Perhaps this was caused by a belt that pinched and damage the cloth (see picture). It is a handsome coat and it displays superbly. The mannequin is not included in this auction. This item is guaranteed original but is 100 years old or so and it shows some of its age. For that reason do expect blemishes, scratches and such defects on the items. Do ask questions prior to submitting a bid. I am always happy to provide additional information as I am a cavalry collector myself. Please take a moment to view my other cavalry items currently listed in other auctions. The shipping cost quoted is for the lower 48 contiguous States only. International bidders will pay actual shipping cost, plus a US $5.00 handling fee, please inquire. I now required that foreign bidders have at least 10 positive feedback prior to bidding on my auction. I will cancel the bids that do not meet this requirement. Sorry but I have had too many dishonest bidders. Payment is expected within 10 days of the auction end. Please contact me within 3 days of the completion of the auction and let me know what is your preferred method of payment. I accept Paypal, money orders or cashier's checks. I have added 3 pictures of the coat. The first one is to show the detail of the fastening of the buttons inside the blouse. The second shows the condition of the liner. Last I showed another picture of the holes on the side of the coat and placed the chevron next to it to give a better idea of the size.
