A very nice 5 button blouse with eagle brass buttons, 5 in the front and 3 small one on each arm cuffs. I believe this is early 1890's era. The first sergeant stripes appear original to the coat and are in very nice condition. The cloth on the chevrons and lozenges is heavier, more like felt than the one I have seen for US Army coat. This may be an indication that this coat is of National Guard provenance. Bidders will have to be the judge and bid accordingly. Do not hesitate to ask questions prior to bidding. T is no Quartermaster Depot stamp that I could find. T are a couple of ink stamp letters inside one sleeve near the arm pit but they are not legible. The liner is in superb condition showing light use and soiling only. The sleeves are also lined with a white cloth. Each of the front buttons are neatly attached with a leather washer and each held in place by a round brass wire. T is no mothing that I could find in the cloth. T are only a couple of small holes on the left side at the second button level. One is larger being about 1/4 inch wide and a couple of smaller one around it. Perhaps this was caused by a belt that pinched and damage the cloth (see picture). It is a handsome coat and it displays superbly. The mannequin is not included in this auction.
