Still in great shape....paint appears to be original ...Outside texture of helmet is rough ...Army green color . T are 2 small spots w someone dripped some yellow paint on it....t are also some very minor dents and scratches...most likely from combat. Straps are intact. Liner has a smoother texture to it with some scratches and discolorations ...inside webbing appears to be complete...though it is a little dry. T is some writing on part of the webbing...hard to make it all out , but part of it appears to read: " AM STAY CO W 199 QM" and possibly "1942". Upon close inspection of the inside of the liner....t appears to be a small house or crest with the word " Inland " inside of it...and the number 16 below it. This crest is located in the inside top center of helmet liner. I have included a few more pictures also that better show how the bales are attached to helmet, and the straps. I can not get a good picture of the crest though...it is hard to see. I have received information that this may be a Paratrooper Helmet First model M2 with D strap bales. I have some good close up pictures of the D rings and straps...if you would like me to e-mail them to you, send me your address.
