You are bidding on a US Army issue Cap, Utility, Cotton, Poplin, Outside: Olive Green Brown, Wool Pile Lining with Visor and Earflaps. DSA-1-6550, stock number: 8. Size 71/2. This cap was issued to me when I was serving at the United State Military Academy, my first duty station in the Army. It is an exact type of head gear worn for severely cold weather and could be and was worn under the M1 Helmet during the Korean War. If you look at pictures of the period during the Winter months you will see these hats worn by many of the soldiers and marines. T is a picture of President Eisenhower wearing one of these when he made his first visit to Korea. This cap is in great condition with no signs of wear other than sweat stains on the forward edge of the head liner. It will keep you head very warm during cold weather. It matches the color of other issue field clothing of the period. This cap is being sold as is.
