I offer for auction a vintage military straight razor that was for U.S. Soldiers and Sailors use. On one side of the blade, etched in the center, is the image of a Soldier and Sailor back to back. Each is carrying a rifle. Between the two is etched ARMY AND NAVY. The uniforms the men are wearing are those issued during WW1. (1918) On the tang of the blade is stamped, LAKESIDE CUTLERY CO. CHICAGO,ILL. The handle of the razor, I believe, is celluloid. This military razor also comes in it's original box, which has the Lakeside Cutlery Co. logo on it. CONDITION: The celloid handle is in very good condition, with no cracks or scratches and the blade pivots in and out of it very nicely. The cardboard box is also in very good condition. It does show some wear, some small areas w the applied label is peeling or missing, but in general, for a cardboard box with this age, it's very good. The blade, I would say is only in good condition. It has some surface rust in areas and one area on the back shows some slight pitting. The pitting is not deep, however. I would think that many of these imperfections could be removed, with a little work and a little knowledge of how to do it. All of the imperfections are on the surface and not deep. The blade itself is very sharp and t are no chips out of it. This is a nice WW1 straight razor, in original read more
