Offered for auction is a nice example of a US Army lightweight raincoat. It's in great shape and is a good size (I wear a size 42-Tall jacket and the raincoat fits nicely). I am unsure of its date (WWII - Vietnam War?). It carries a sewn cloth label that reads "RAINCOAT, MAN'S, LIGHTWEIGHT, TAUPE, SHADE 179". The label further reads, "Southern Athletic Co., Inc., DSA - MIL-R-14508C (GL)" with a printed "01" and then instructions for its use and cleaning. It also carries a label at the collar that reads "REG. 34" and "8. It is 6-button double-breasted with a full 2" wide belt. The fabric is double lined - water repellent. The underside of the collar carries a stamp "Alley David _____". The shoulder-straps are buttoned, with a foldover wrap (for insignia). The sleeve cuffs are belted with 2-button adjustments. Three grommeted vent holes are under each armpit. A very nice raincoat with years of service yet to give - no rips or tears, no cracks or stiffness, very pliable. Please note that I ship through the US Post Office. Shipping cost will be determined at the close of the auction and will reflect solely the fee charged by the Post Office to ship from my zip code to that of the winning bidder's. Non-US interested parties will be expected to make payment by means of an International Money Order - payable in US Dollars (note, this is the only non-US form of payment that will be accepted) and international shipping costs will be determined after the close of the auction once I receive a sending address. I do not use Paypal - this is NOT AN OPTION - sorry. T is NO RESERVE on this item. Thanks for your interest.
