SPH-4 Flight Helmet Original SPH-4 flight helmet, OD green painted fiberglass outer shell with OD green visor housing and knob, clear plastic single visor, OD green nylon and brown leather suspension assembly, and all earphones/boom mike/commo cord intact. Size Regular, mfg by GENTEX and dated 1971. Helmet is standard SPH-4 configuration except that it has been equipped with white painted Scott oxygen mask receptacles (I've been told this modification was used by USAF forward air controllers). Boom mike is secured to left side receptacle by means of an aluminum bracket. Also has velcro strips added to visor housing and back of helmet for attaching strobe/marker lights, etc. Painted finish shows average scuffs from years of use but no cracks, chips or other structural damage to helmet or components-no damage to visor or visor housing either. Foam earphone inserts need to be replaced, otherwise a nice clean modified SPH-4 for your collection and in very good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask!
