This auction is for a US WWI M1917 bolo knife manufactured in 1918 by American Cutlery, Chicago. The knife appears to have been unissued with only in and out wear to the black finish on the blade. The grips are mint and t is an ordnance mark on the crossguard. The blade is 10 inches long and the knife overall 15 inches. The metal scabbard was manufactured in 1918 by L, F& C and so marked. The leather hanger holding the belt hook is mint and stamped USMC = US Marine Corps. The metal scabbard has 2 very shallow dents toward the bottom. T are a few paint chips caused by the blade being inserted in to the throat of the scabbard.
