This is a U.S. Model 1795 bayonet for the Charleville Pattern Musket. I beleive it to be either made by the Harpers Ferry arsenal, or be an 1808 contract bayonet which were pattered on the Harpers Ferry ones. It is made for a rifle with the bayonet stud on the bottom of the barrel and has a US stamped on the neck between the socket and the blade. Both characteristics of a Harpers Ferry bayonet. T is also a C on the socket. It is in overall good condition with some surface rust and the tip is broken off. Harpers Ferry bayonets are very rare and even the contractor made ones are rare.
