US NAVY WW II WALTHAM RED BRASS NAUTICAL SHIP CLOCK
Up for auction is beautiful RED BRASS Waltham Watch Company Ship Clock. It was serviced several months ago and runs excellent. It is mounted on a piece of straight grained Mahogany or Walnut and has a padded back with a hole for mounting on the wall. T is one very small ding on the edge of the bezel. T are no chips or cracks in the glass. The 2 inch by 4 inch plaque is screwed on and reads WW II, 1941-1945 US NAVY and has a Navy Anchor emblem with USN in Silver. What a great nautical piece, which would be a wonderful addition to any clock collection, small or large. It is difficult to see, but it does read WALTHAM WATCH COMPANY USA below the center of the dial (see photos). The outside diameter of the bezel is 4 3/8 inches and the actual diameter of the face is 3 1/2 inches. The wood plaque that the clock is mounted on is 6 inches by 11 inches and is 3/4 inch thick. The bezel and clock case are Red Brass. It has a nice patina, but could very easily be polished to bright red brass. It weighs 4 lb. 3 oz. It has a screw on bezel and easily screws on and off the clock case with clean, crisp threads. I wind it every week so I believe it has an 8 day movement. The clock will be double boxed for added shipping protection and will be sent via USPS Priority Mail so you should receive it in 2 to 3 days after your payment clears.
