This is an awesome condition M-1917A1 helmet as introduced during the mid 1930's and used in the early parts of World War II. Often associated with the Army and Navy at Pearl Harbor and the USMC at Wake Island, but saw widespread service with all branches of the military through the depression and darkest days of WWII. The steel shell is stamped 220 ZD, and has a very dense covering of cork texture painted olive drab. Shows a few scuffs and stains from being used 70 years ago. Liner is complete with leather ties and center pad. Shows dirt from use, but is still flexible. Has the soldier's name written on it, F.B. Maloy. Chinstrap is in excellent condition with brass buckle, and no staining. Great item to add to your collection! Thanks for looking, and don't forget to check out my other auctions for more interesting helmets and military items!
