Up for bid is a solid US Springfield or Harpers Ferry M1816 socket bayonet. Bayonet is marked US (partially gone) over what appears to be a V. I don't see any other marks. Bayonet has normal light dings and the back of the blade has some moderate oxidation, but I don't see any pitting. Front of the blade has some light oxidation but again no pitting. Overall length is 19 3/16". Blade is 15 15/16". Socket is 3". Solid, used but not abused bayonet that is rather hard to find. Overall condition is a NEAR VERY GOOD TO VERY GOOD. Buyer to include $8 shipping and handling for USPS priority shipping with delivery confirmation. Insurance is optional at the high bidders discretion and should only add a couple of dollars. My terms are a one week, no questions asked return of your money, less shipping if you should be unhappy with your purchase for any reason. I would ask that the item be returned in the same condition it was sent and that the buyer pay for return shipping costs. We accept PAYPAL, money orders and personal checks. PAYPAL and money orders are shipped every Wednesday and Saturday, while personal checks will delay shipment for 10 working days.
