Up for your consideration is an very unusual uniform obtained as part of a large collection of international camouflage uniforms. The uniform consists of a tailor-made hooded two-pocket smock and matching two-pocket combat trousers, both made from reversible US-made 1950s era "Mitchell" pattern camouflage cloth (the so-called "wine leaf" pattern on one side, and tan "clouds" pattern on the reverse). The uniform seems to be locally-made, possibly in South Korea or Japan, although t are no manufacturer's markings inside. The smock looks like it will fit up to a 42" chest, and features a zipper front, hood, and handwarmer pockets. Trousers will fit up to 30" waist, and feature large, flap-covered hip cargo pockets and standard sized belt loops. It should be noted that both smock and trousers are intended to be worn as reversible garments, as pockets have been sewn to both sides, although the green hem from the "wind leaf" side does show through a bit at some points when reversed to the tan side. Condition overall is excellent, with some mild fading to the smock, less to the trousers, but no major rips, tears, or repairs noted. I have no additional provenance on this uniform, except to say that the cloth is good quality, durable cotton sateen and is consistent with some helmet covers I have seen from the early 1960s in this pattern ( read more
