USA Experimental Helm No2 ‚Deep Salade‘, 1917. Approximately 2‘000 of these helmets were made by Ford andCompany in Philadelphia in the fall of 1918. The front contours worked well to deflect projectiley. While the helmet was heavier then the M-1917, reports indicated it was far more comfortable to wear. With classic designs oft he 15th Century, this helmet (Modell No 2) was created in June 1917. It was made from a steel mixture with manganese. The helmet weighed in at 43 ½ ounces. Ist dimensions were 8 ½ inches deep, 10 inches wide, and 12 ¾ inches long. The color is original and aroound the helmet the same color. Differences are from the light and the camera. You can see the color on Pic 10; its the pic with the best color (made the pic on sunlight). ->i search rare helmets WW1 with visors and body armour from WW1.
