USAF 438th Fighter Interceptor Squadron FIS patch F-106
Great looking old original issue US Air Force patch from the 438th Fighter Interceptor Squadron patch. The 438th was stationed at Kincheloe Air Force Base, Michigan from 1960 until 1968 w they flew the F-106 Dart. In 1968 the squadron transferred to Griffiss, AFB w they were re-designated. Patch is a Walt Disney design and features an angry looking Donald Duck and is embroidered on a golden yellow twill base with a partial cheesecloth backing. The tab is fully embroidered and is not attached to the patch. It is held together with tape on the back. Patch is approx. 4-7/8" from top to bottom (with tab) and 4-1/8" across. Patch appears to have been removed from a uniform and in overall good condition. Front surface is very clean, although the cheesecloth on the back is dirty with traces of old glue on the back. T is also a small damaged area to the outer border around 4 o'clock. I am helping a friend sell his USAF Fighter Interceptor Squadron patch collection so t will be more FIS patches in the weeks to come. Please add 60 cents for US postage, overseas higher. Thanks for looking.
