What leather flight jackets were to the aces of WW2, the nylon MA-1 was to a new generation of flyers. A revolutionary design, the lightweight, warm and comfortable L-2B quickly became a jet age classic. This USAF Vietnam MA-1 Nylon Flight Jacket is in very good to excellent condition, with only some light mothing to the knit cuffs, inside waistband, and the back of the knit collar (all pictured). It features knit collar, cuffs, and waistband, slash flap snap closure hand warmer pockets, cigarette/pen pocket on sleeve, and is fully reversible to rescue orange. This is one of the heavier versions of the MA-1, thicker than the lighter mid-war jackets commonly seen. It is a size Small, dated August of 1973, and was produced by the famous Alpha Industries, a legendary government supplier. It is complete with the original nomenclature tag and is a great relic of the ferocious air war fought in the skies over Vietnam.
