IS A USED 100 GRIT SILCON CARBIDE GRINDING WHEEL FROM THE HIGHLAND PARK COMPANY! I have had this old used silicon carbide grinding wheel manufactured by the Highland Park Company of Hawthorne, California for many years. It was originally an 8" diameter by 1.5" wide wheel with a 1" arbor hole and is a 100 grit wheel. It is used and has been ground down to the point that it is now about 6 7/16" in diameter because it has been worn down about 3/4" from its original radius. This means it still has probably 70-80% of its useable wear still left. It is still fairly true in shape but you would probably want to true up the edge a bit before you use it again. I have had it since I closed down my retail lapidary shop and moved it back to my home shop along with many other new supplies that I hadn't sold when I closed down. It came off an old grinding machine that I refurnished by replacing all the wheels on the machine. I set it on a shelf and haven't had a use for it since that time. It doesn't have any major dings or other problems and was working fine when taken off the old machine. I am including a series of plastic shims that can be used so that the wheel can be installed on arbors ranging from 1" to 1/2" in size. New price on a wheel like this is around $50 in lapidary supply catalogs. If you look at the pictures you can get an idea
