This is USGS Map I-616, "Geologic Map of the Maskelyne DA Region of the Moon, Lunar Orbiter Site II P-2, Southeastern Mare Tranqilitatis Including Apollo Landing Site 1". This publication consists of one full-color map, an accompanying 4-page explanatory article, and the original manila sleeve. The map is at a scale of 1:100,000 and measures 42 x 25 inches. The picture shows a standard English tape measure for scale. The region is named for the Maskelyne DA crater, which is toward the left of the map.This was published in 1970.As I understand it, this map was used in discussions of various potential landing sites for the apollo missions. I haven't been able to find out much more than that, but since it is a large scale (close up) map related to the Apollo missions, I should think this would be a pretty desirable item, especially if you know more about the landing site selection process than I do. What was landing site 1? How did it fit into the Apollo program? There are mysteries to solve here.Note that most of my photos are from scans of the map so you can see the details better than any photo I could take, but the first two photos are of the actual map, sleeve, and article you will receive.I have seen these sold for crazy prices on ebay, way higher than I would expect (like above $300!) Maybe this is more valuable than I know,
