This is a lot of 2 items: a magazine produced by the Marine Aviation Force circa 1918-19 in Santo Domingo, and a document which appears to be an appointment letter to a Leo I. Waldron to the 1st Division Squadron D. Marine Aviation Force. The appointment document is signed by Captain Walter E. McCaughtry who was instrumental in organizing this squadron for duty in the Dominican Republic. The document is dated 1919, and apparently he was in command of the squadron while on the island. Because of its age this lot is being sold as is. A brief biography of each of the Marine pilots can be found in the magazine plus a listing by name of all of the members of the the squadron. It appears that at least 30% of the pilots had flown in Europe during WWI.
