Up for sale is a United States Marine Corps Pre-WWII General Officer Named Service Green Jacket. It is standard USMC Forest Green officer's Service Dress Jacket. The tailor's label is named to "General J Marston" and dated 1941. It is medium size with all buttons and belt. The jacket has a pair of Bronze EGAs marked "HH" for Hamburg Hilborn, and 3 rows of ribbons from Pre WWI to WWII with some foreign awards. T are pin back old model expert rifle and pistol shooting badges. The general's stars are slightly tarnished and are marked "Balfor" Sterling. On each shoulder is a nicely done polar bear "Iceland" hand embroidered shoulder patch. It is believed these patches were added by the collector who once had this jacket because when Gen. Marston left the Iceland Command he had some stateside posts and would have not worn the Iceland shoulder patch. I believe retired during the war as t is no WWII Victory medal on his ribbon bar. Everything else appears to be original to the jacket. T is no known history of this jacket. It is in used but EXCELLENT Condition and namedto "Gen. John Marston who was the commander of the USMC troops in Iceland (First Brigade). The Marines were in Iceland from July 1941 to sometime in early 1942 to help defend the Island. !Be sure to add me to your favorites list !
