The first picture is a stock picture and the rest are of the one that I put on my rifle. This auction is for a new guard that is still in the original plastic and comes complete with bolts. This is a new never used M40A3 guard. This guard was assigned a government stock number of NSN 1005-01511-8398 and is CNC machined from 4150 pre-hard steel, to rigid military tolerances. The heavy duty construction includes a wide, oversized trigger bow for added protection and strength. A hinged floorplate and recessed latch provides for rapid unloading in the field without the use of tools. Front and rear tangs are extra thick with fully recessed socket head cap screws. The inletting pattern is on file with McMillan Fiberglass Stocks and the M1 guard is adaptable to other stocks with minor fitting. A five degree draft angle is machined on all sides for easier fitting and repeatable alignment. Hardened to RC 28-32 with MIL-SPEC phosphate finish. Includes 2 socket head cap screws. In service worldwide on all USMC M40A3 Sniper rifles. I had an extra from a build and thought that I would offer it here as it would be great to have authentic parts for that M40 build.
