You are bidding on a very cool and absolutely unique, authentic USSR / Soviet Russian desk model plane (an Antonov 10) presented to Maj Gen Shevelyov from the Antonov Design Bureau. For those of you who collect aircraft desk models, why buy some mass-produced "souvenir" plane bought from a mail-order catalog or gift shop when you can get one that was given by the aircraft designers to an important Soviet air force general? Plans is made of plastic with a plastic base. The "CCCP", red flag, etc insignia look to be painted on the plane. The plane seems complete and is in VG+ condition -- one of the wings has an expertly repaired crack, and one of the lower stabilizers has fallen off and needs to be reglued (the original piece is with the model, the buyer will have to reglue -- should be a quick fix). The piece that connects the base to the plan is also cracked but can easily be repaired. I believe that the the engraved inscription on the base reads something like: "To commander of Polar Aviation Maj. Gen. Shevelyov from the Antonov Aircraft Design Bureau. 1960". The propellers have clear circular plastic discs to simulate the plane in motion -- very cool! Wingspan is 15 inches, length is 13 inches, height of plane and base is 13 inches. This piece is absolutely authentic -- you'll be happy with it!! Postage Cost (Please factor this into your bidding). To US: $8.00 / To Rest of World: $16.00 Check out my other Soviet plane model, a Tupolev jet presented to the same General, on "view seller's other auctions" Aeroflot / air plane / plane / Tupolev / model
