It is large-scale laconic pattern. The main motif is large rosettes with arrows inside framed by the solid leafy stalks. The Samarkand embroideress imbues the leafy stalks with vigour and force. Saturated black succulent stalks and leaves plastically wind round contrast rosette. In the exquisite color combinations of this Suzani are tones which are rarely found in Central Asia embroidery: black, pale rose, brown. Medallion is the realistic depiction of the sun's disk is undoubtedly connected with the old popular rituals and beliefs. The sun is a favourite motif of all Central Asia embroidery. It passes through the history of the art, gradually losing its religious significance. In our days it appears in the form of a tulip named yak lola.
