Race Ba Mwila belongs to the group Ambo found at the borders of Angola and Namibia.

Because of the extreme isolation of this ethnic group , it is unusual to find these dolls that have a very specific role (particularly of this size).

Young girls in age to marry are isolated in a hut with a doll of this type. During the 3 to 6 months to come, many ceremonies will be organized and will take place. This doll will stay all along the path with these girls without ever leaving them. During this period, if the girl found no husband, she will participate again in ceremonies in order to complete the process.

If this during this opportunity, no man decides to take her as a wife, she will have the right to make her own choice among the men to marry who has not find a partner. L'ethnie Ba Mwila appartient au groupe Ambo que l'on retrouve aux frontières de l'Angola et de la Namibie.

Du fait de l'extrème isolement de cette ethnie , il est exceptionnel de trouver ces poupées qui ont un rôle très précis (particulièrement de cette taille).

Les jeunes filles en âge de se marier sont isolées dans une hutte avec une poupée de ce type.

Durant les 3 à 6 mois qui vont suivre, de nombreuses cérémonies vont être organisées. Cette poupée accompagnera tout au long du chemin ces jeunes filles sans jamais les quitter.
