Note: "emovieposter" is only on our digital image, NOT on the actual item. Also, we are changing our photography setup! Images with a solid black background are ones that were photographed on our new black metal background. We now hold the posters in place with magnets (so we do not have to attach the poster to the wall in any way), which are small and round and resemble "push pins", but we assure you they are NOT! If an image has a black background, know that the odd circles in the edges of the item are magnets that hold it in place, and are NOT a defect! 8 Original Vintage Theater-Used Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") from Anything Goes, the 1956 Robert Lewis musical ("When these shining stars sing and dance those Cole Porter melodies... 'Anything Goes"; written by Sydney Sheldon, "Music and lyrics by Cole Porter", "With new songs by Sammy Cahn and James Van Heusen"; "From the play by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse") starring Bing Crosby, Donald O'Connor, Zizi Jeanmaire (billed simply as "Jeanmaire"), Mitzi Gaynor, and Phil Harris
Overall Condition: fine or better. Note that two of the cards have tape or tape stains in the blank corners, but otherwise, the cards are all in real nice condition!
Want to know more about the condition of this item? This single lobby card or complete set of 8 lobby cards is in quite nice condition (what many dealers would describe as "fine", "near mint", or "mint")! It MAY have some extremely minor defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right. We feel that this single lobby card or complete set of 8 lobby cards would be acceptable to every collector! Note that some of these "fine" items are in SUCH wonderful condition that they look as though they were just printed (but we assure you they were not!). We have noted which sets are in this "like new" condition. Lobby Cards measure 11" x 14" and were almost always printed in sets of 8 (some lower budget movies only had a set of 4). Many lobby card sets (usually pre-1970 sets) have a "title card". A title card normally has artwork and the credits from the movie, and is different in appearance from the other seven cards in the set. The artwork is usually the same as that of the artwork on one of the styles of half-sheet. It is very difficult to find complete lobby card sets from pre-1970 movies, as almost all of these were long ago broken up and sold by the individual card. Special Notes About Our Current 663 Items... [Hide Details ] A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT LOBBY CARDS:
IMPORTANT! T are constant rumors that "slabbing" of lobby cards is "just around the corner". Slabbing is encasing items in a hard plastic sleeve with a seal that can't be broken, and then the items are professionally graded. ANY restoration of any kind, as well as a detailed condition description is noted on the back of the sleeve. Proponents of slabbing say that it takes all the guesswork out of grading items, and it brings lots of new collectors into a hobby, who are no longer afraid of buying an over-graded item, or one with hidden restoration. It is indisputable that slabbing attracts a lot of "investors" into a hobby, and almost always slabbing of items is followed by a sharp rise in the price ...
