LOT 206 Seller's Estimate: USD 2,000 - 2,500 Van Buren, Martin and Andrew Jackson. Autograph letter signed ("M Van Buren") as Vice President, 1p, 12 x 8 in., no place, Wednesday, circa 1833. To "The President" (Andrew Jackson) with an autograph endorsement signed ("A.J.") across the address leaf. Van Buren writes, "My friend Mr. Hoffman will call upon you at ten in the morning to ask some assistance from you in the prosecution of Mr. Decatur's bill in the manner & for the reasons he will point out. It is to come up again on Friday & he wishes very much to be saved from the necessity of attacking the statement of Commodore Stewart which he thinks can & ought to be effected by the Commodore...."On the reverse Jackson boldly penned, "Major Lewis will please send this & let me see him early- Capt Stuart must be seen on tomorrow after Mr. Hoffman has the interview with me.
