Van Dyke, Henry. The Works of Henry Van Dyke, The Avalon Autograph Edition . Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, LITTLE RIVERS VOLUME SIGNED BY AUTHOR , EIGHTEEN VOLUMES, FRONTISPIECES, NUMBER 346 OF LIMITED EDITION OF 504 COPIES, FINE BINDINGS , 1920-1927. Volume I signed and numbered by the publisher opposite the half title page for the volume. This volume also contains the frontispiece with the author's signature below the photograph. Each subsequent volume is also numbered so that you know you have a complete set. Beautiful, apparently unused complete set, of Van Dyke's works, with attractive light red buckram bindings with matching corners, integral cloth place markers, paper spine labels, with most volumes in original protective tissues, though some of these are quite worn. Printed on high quality, heavy paper, it appears that most pages remain uncut as they came from the binder. Printed on Old Stratford paper, some containing illustrations of Wyeth's paintings, including all of the frontispieces except the photo in Volume I. All volumes in set were published in 1920 or 1921, except for Vol. 18, The Golden Key , which was printed in 1927. All 18 volumes are numbered 349 at front end page, the Little Rivers volume being also SIGNED " CHARLES SCRIBNER'S SONS ." ( Avalon was the name of the old house in which Mr. Van Dyke lived. read more
