A. Van Ostade -The Concert -Etching The Concert , Etched David Deuchar after Adrian Van Ostade, Etching, on wove paper and printed 1803 in Scotland measuring 3.5 by 4.75 inches and is in good condition. Adriaen van Ostade ( 1610 – 1685) Painter and Etcher of The Golden Age best noted for his Genre Scenes in oils and etching . According to Houbraken, he and his brother were pupils of Frans Hals and like him, spent most of their lives in Harlem. He was the eldest son of Jan Hendrix Ostad, a weaver from the town of Ostade . H e became a pupil in 1627 of the portrait painter Frans Hals, at that time the master of Adrian Bower and Jan Molenaer .
