This is a rarely encountered, vintage early 1930's era, black iron GRISWOLD #8, LARGE SLANT / ERIE PA., U.S.A. LOGO, SMOOTH BOTTOM CAST IRON SKILLET. It bears pattern number "704B". Its upper bowl rim measures 10.5" diameter and its cooking surface measures 8.5" diameter. Its inside bowl cooking surface exhibits a moderate scattering of age appropriate light usage and utensil marks while retaining its original factory polished smooth-to-the-touch finish. This cooking surface exhibits a negligible tad of upward crown when gauged with a straight edge. Like all vintage Griswold smooth bottom skillets, there is a negligible tad of movement when this pan is placed on a flat surface...strictly due to its original factory bowl manufacturing tolerances only. There are no repairs, hairline fractures, cracks, pitting, or warpage to contend with. It has been completely reconditioned, hand cleaned, heat seasoned with grape seed oil, and provided with a light coat of protective mineral oil. It is ready to be put to daily use and be proudly displayed from the day it is received. It will be safely packaged and shipped to any location in the United States within one business day upon receipt of secure payment.
