The key question in Japanese iron heads is which is better, Vega or Miura? You can’t answer that question easily because Miura and Vega are each created from a different philosophy. Vega is the “old school” in forging – the blade and the hosel are formed at the same time. Miura takes a different approach. They forge the blade and then “spin weld” the hosel in place. Mr. Miura believes that by forging the blade first, he can lay the iron flat in the press and get a more consistent grain structure in the metal.
