This listing is for an old beautiful piece of genuine, Venetian, Murano Italy, gold fleck, sommerso, glass. It is very thick glass and layered. I was told that when glass is layered like this it is called Sommerso. I hope that is right but if anyone knows different please let me know and I a will revise the listing. In the pictures of the edge you can see w t is a thick layer of clear glass and right under that t is a beautiful layer of gold flecking, and then t appears to be a layer of a clear blue green or aqua colored glass. Very amazing to see. It has the original sticker on the bottom. T is wear on it from years of being moved around and the bottom contact area has some slight surface wear also. The item could be an ashtray or just a pretty bowl. The middle of each side has a dip to the inside that might be good enough to rest a cigarette or cigar on. I don't smoke so I can't tell you for sure. It would be a shame to use it as an ashtray now though. It is about 5 1/4" across the top side to side and it is about 7 1/4" across corner to corner. It is about 2 1/2" tall to the highest part of the rim. It is about 1 3/4" across the bottom contact area. T is a tiny stray bubble or t inside the glass from when it was made but t is no impact chips or cracks anyw on it that I can see or feel. It would make a wonderful Christmas present for anyone or it would make a great addition to any home or office. Good luck. Please remember most of my items are from estate sales and have been used. That means that all of the items, including the porous or material type items, could have been in storage or stored for years before the actual sale and in that time they might have acquired smells or the items could have came from a smoking home or a home with pets, I have no idea. I would mention the smells in the auctions and buy it now's but unfortunately I do not have a sense of smell that works for most smells, so it is unreliable. I just trust that if any of the items have smells that the new owners will be able to remedy it if they want to. Payments must be made in 7 days or less from the end of the Buy It Now or Auction unless other arrangements have been made with me before bidding. I will consider any offers on the prices of the items but I can not negotiate the shipping and handling. Please use the shipping and handling calculator built into the auction to see what your shipping and handling will be before you bid. I prefer paypal payments but I will take money orders and cashiers checks from inside the USA ONLY. Outside the USA must pay through Paypal unless you have made other arrangements with me before you bid. I ONLY ship USPS PRIORITY or USPS EXPRESS inside the USA. Please don't ask me to ship any other way as it will cost you more sense I would have to buy a box and special tape for anything else and add it to the price of the item, making your cost higher than the priority. The only exception is if it is a book I will ship it Media Mail and if it is under 13 ounces I will ship it First Class. I do give shipping refunds to customers that pay through PAYPAL ONLY, if I have over estimated the boxed weight of the item and they have over paid on the shipping part of the amount (I do charge a handling fee to cover the cost of the packaging materials, if you want to know how much handling alone is for your package just ask and I will be more than happy to tell you). As soon as the item is paid for and I have mailed it, I will have the exact shipping amount then on the receipt from the post office, and the next time I get to the computer I mark all of the auction items just shipped "shipped" in the auction, I send out tracking numbers and I issue any refunds at that time to anyone who has over paid on the shipping part of the amount.
