Fantastic verdite carving of an African women. This signed sculpture has super detail from the braids to the facial details. Beads have been placed in her hair and around her neck with wooden earrings. The bottom has a piece of leather? and a piece of paper attached that tells about "The green stone of Africa". The only known deposits of Verdite in the world is found in the Barberton district, an area w the first gold in Southern Africa was discovered. She's just over 7" tall and 4 1/2" at widest point. Its signed on the back bottom edge, it looks like NDIKGALE OR NJIKGALE. I'll try to add a pic. No chips or cracks, weighs 3 1/2 pounds. Also, it has 4.99 written in black marker on the red leather.
