Quarter Pound Covered Butter Dish 8 3/4" long (bottom plate) 6 1/4" long (cover) 3 1/4" tall to tip of handle Vernonware Fruit Basket by Metlox Potteries Excellent Condition The Vernonware Fruit Basket pattern was done in the San Fernando Shape. It has a colonial look to it with a cream background, scalloped edge, In the center of the side of the lid is fruit and flowers. On the top of the Lid t are 2 flowers for easy grip Vernonware began with Poxon China in 1916, located in Vernon, California. Later, in 1928, it became Vernon Potteries or Vernon Kilns. It was incorporated in the state of California in 1933. The company was bought out by Metlox in 1958 and became a division of Metlox.
