Very attractive Terra-Cotta Monochrome Pyxis, Late Bronze Age 1550-1200 B.C. Decorated with five painted brown circles around neck and body, two very small pierced handles . Late Canaanite, Early Israelite Period. {TIME OF MOSES} THIS charming pyxis perhaps originally contained cosmetics such as kohl for the eyes. It links us in an intimate way with some ancient lives, otherwise long forgotten. Centuries ago, human hands shaped this vessel, decorated it, filled it with some commodity, sold it, purchased it, used it daily. We have no clue who those individuals were, except that they touched this pyxis. When we place our hands where theirs once rested, we become, if only for a brief moment, part of its history. Unconditionally guaranteed authentic. Price includes packing, shipping and handling, insurance, Certificate of Authenticity, export approval from the Antiquities Department in Israel, and plexiglas stand. Please allow 1 week for delivery. Toll Free: from USA to Israel e-mail: /venusgalleries/
