This magnificent DALA horse is a classic design. However, its size really has made this a stand-out horse in our large collection of Dala horses. It is 14 inches high by 13 inches in length. It has been carved out of a solid block of wood. It is hand-painted in unique colors. The body was white, but through the years the varnish has taken on the patina of a pale, soft ivory-yellow color.The decorative painting is classical and stands out against the off-white background The design painting is in MINT condition. The body has a very few "scuff" marks. T are a couple of "bites"on the rear of the right rear leg and front right leg. Paint in slightly worn off on one corner of the ear but no chips.It is a beauty purchased in Nusnas, Dalarna, Sweden in 1982. The Nusnas shop label is missing, but the blue and gold label "Made in Sweden" is affixed to the bottom of the belly of the horse.
