A VERY NICE ,VERY UNIQUE AND EARLY BAYONET - this appears to be a a very unique bayonet even before you factor in an early EFD with no cleaning hole and multiple re-issue marks. The Wooden Handles have the Crown stamped on each handle with the T 5 E - See Pictures!! The VERY NICE Blade has no Rust or Pitting - The early 1907s that were made were according to regulations be modified with the cleaning hole in the handles - despite many re-issues - they overlooked this one. If You want or need a model 1907 for your collection - why not have a nice unique 1907 that cost the same or very little more than a standard common 1907. They are much more interesting and historic . In addition the Metal part of the handle was marked with Olive Drab paint for re-issue in WW11 for Jungle Warfare! This was done by the Military arsenal - not some want a be - individual. THIS IS AN EARLY -NO CLEANING HOLE) IN THE METAL HANDLE MODEL AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND ONE THAT WASN'T LATER MODIFIED WITH THE HOLE ADDED PER REGULATIONS. British bayonet and scabbard used by England Canada and Australia in both WW1 and WW11. This Model 1907 was marked with numerous arsenal marks - it was manufactured by EFD and dated 5 14 , whick I am told means May of 1914 . P lease see the pictures for unique and exact markings on the blade and handle - a nice historic collectable for display, re-enactment or simply an investment. The bayonet is unusual,since it is an unmodified early one with no cleaning hole in the handle. It's trying to tell me its history,but my limited knowledge prevents me from understanding it. I'm sure some of you more advanced British collector's can identify it. The blade is 17 inches long and the overall 22 inches long. This fits all British mk 111 rifles used in both wars. It will not fit the later number 4 rifles. This is a bayonet THAT IS OVER 90 YEARS OLD -and not bad for age and history- pictures will better show nice condition. In addition - it is a well marked bayonet. It goes on nicely on my mark 111 rifle. It is not an cheap India made bayonet. . It probably saw service in both WW1 and WW11. I say that because a collector informed me that the scabbard - with the OVAL frog attachment was for WW1 issue with the model 1907 bayonet. If it could only talk. Great for displaying with rifle, by itself , re-enacting or simply collecting. Note pictures of markings on the bayonet - I'm sure they probably mean more to you than me. Note: This very nice blade has not been sharpened since leaving the Gov't Arsenal. See Pictures to appreciate the extra nice condition of the Blade of this early Bayonet! Note: .
