Very nice Indian Wars US Army Uniform Coat with M. C. Lilley label in collar-
T are nine coat front buttons, and three cuffs on each side and four coat
size buttons on the back. Total nineteen buttons. The style of these Eagle
buttons is Civil War. An examination of a few back marks read Scovill Mfg. Co.
Waterbury and some are Extra Quality and some are plain. I did not examine them
all. The coat is in very good condition. The lining is intact and untorn. The
wool cloth is very good, but you can find a couple moth holes, as you would
expect. A review of Bazelon & McGuinn's book. "Military Goods Dealers & Makers
1785-1915" tells us that Mitchell C. Lilley & Co. began making military goods
in 1874. I've had the coat examined by a local collector who is intimately
familiar with uniform coats. Actually, he specializes in Civil War items and his
opinion is that this one just outside that time frame, circa 1874-84. Overall,
I would rate this coat as very good. I've shown the coat from every angle,
and will tell you that it is unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic as
described or I will spontaneously issue a full refund. Thirty day right of

be picked up at my Civil War store in Ashland, Virginia. I will be traveling to
the Marietta, Ga. Show on August 11-12 and will work the North South
(National) Show on August 17 & 18. You can pick it up at any of the above, if you win
