Authentic Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway Company preferred stock certificate dated in the 1890's to 1910. The certificate has a beautiful vignette of a steam locomotive with a factory setting in the background. These certificates are very old and are in good condition for their age. Each certificate is punch and/or stamp cancelled and may show some discoloration w the transfer slip was originally glued. The certificates are so old that they are signed by hand, no facsimiles!! Nice looking certificate and is a great conversation piece of a famous railroad company that is no longer in existence. Certificates this old sell for $50 to over $100 at internet sites and at antique/paper shows and I have set the opening bid low. Certificate would make a fine addition to your railroad or antique collection and would make a great gift. Stock certificate collecting is becoming increasingly popular due to the historical significance of many of the companies and their increasing rarity. With the advent of electronic trading the issuance of stock certificates has decreased markedly and accordingly should improve the value of these certificates over time.
