Very Pretty inlaid Rosewood 19thc French mantle Clock, This very attractive clock has just about everything going for it, from its rather good proportions, to the barley twist pillars, and the rather rococo heavy cast brass dial mount, the clock is in the form of a pillar clock, with 4 barley twist pillars with gilt mounts, the mounts are superbly detailed and very well cast, the case work is Rosewood and has been inlayed with a sycamore, the dial is signed, and shows a little damage, the same signature appears on the movement also, the clock is an eight day and very clean I would suggest that this clock has been looked after in its life, the clock runs very well and keeps time, the pendulum is of interest in the style of a lyre with a heavy cast brass bob with silvered centre, the case shows a couple of signs of old worm, now long gone, and treated by myself just to be sure, a very nice example with fine details, and completely original, size stands just over 17 inches tall.
