Thanks for taking a look at this rare vase, very few were made with fans. She can be referenced in David Barron's "Collecting Head Vases Identification and Value Guide" page 111. Despite some very minor flaws, she is a real beauty and will make the perfect addition to the advanced headvase collection. I'm tempted to keep her in my collection but I have purchased about 50 vases this month and I don't have room to keep them all. I have placed what I believe to be a moderate reserve to protect my investment. This auction is only for the 6" vase with the fan. The other three vases, including the 6 3/4" Mitzi Gaynor will be listed within the next day or so. Condition: I purchased this vase from a collector who told me she bought her at a garage sale in 1984 in this condition. The left eyelash on the vase has either a factory flaw or has been repaired prior to her purchase of the vase in 1984. It does not seriously impact the vase, the eyelash is not really thick or the paint is not in a glob like so many poorly repaired examples. If I were choosing to keep this vase I would not do a thing to her, and she would definitly be on the top shelf in my collection. The vase is a little dirty and has moderate clear crazing. She does appear to have been used and has minor rust/mineral staining around the inside rim. The hand and fan are in fine condition and the gold guilding on the fan and the hair ribbon is in good condition. I see only one very small flea bite on the inside of the rim. Initially, I did not see the flea bite but, upon close inspection I felt it. T are no other chips in the vase. She does have a very small 1/4" stress crack on the hair ribbon that can only be seen in the front upon very close inspection. It is more apparent from the back but not unsightly. I missed this crack when I purchased her and I tend to be pretty critical of the condition. I don't think that this stress crack effects the structural integrity of the vase. I would not say that she is in mint condition due to these flaws but, I would rate her as in very good condition. I don't believe that you will be unhappy with her condition. The buyer is responsible for the actual shipping and insurance costs. This will be calculated at the end of the auction. I will not consider shipping the vase without adequate insurance coverage. I do not charge an additional packing/handling fee. I have done my best to describe the condition of the item and will only consider returns for condition items that were not mentioned above. Please ask questions before bidding and I will do my best to respond as soon as possible. I prefer PayPal but will accept money orders and cashier checks as well.
