Alaska Airlines Samovar A rare find at an auction in the Pacific Northwest..a tagged Alaska Airlines Samovar from their 1970's "Golden Samovar Service" In 1970 AA began the "Golden Samovar" service, complete with Cossack costumes and beverages served from giant Russian Samovars, this in recognition of the company's introduction of charter service to Siberia. After many years of diplomatic wrangling, the airline was able to win permission for more than two dozen flights in 1970, 1971, and 1972. Some how this unit found its way into a local auction house some 35 years later!! A rare collectible for any Airlines Collector. You will probably never sea another so tagged with the AA inventory number. Unit is a large 211/2" high x 13" across handles. No fire chamber on the bottom. Can be made to work, as ornament, make into a lamp, etc. Let THIS be the center piece of your collection!!
