Takahashi was a San Francisco Import firm that imported the very best from Japan and the Orient. These items were sold in the fine department stores of the US. This is a small platter in blue and white that is marked with the Japanese makers mark and has a foil label of Takahashi. In excellent condition. Excellent Year: ca1930s-50s Country: Japan. Do not confuse this piece with many other Takahashi imports. As noted above they imported many makers mark. The maker or artists unique mark is on this one and is quite unique for Takahashi. I challenge someone to find a match. I have looked for months. I actually bought this item while stationed in England in the Air Force 1983-1988 at some point I purchased it from an individual. The best deals typically are acquired that way. As noted Takahashi was an American importer so how it ended up in england is beyond me. I truly wish I could find some matching pieces, but it has been a fruitless effort. This is a fine specimen of Japanese artistry. Keep in mind Takahashi simply was the import company and they imported many makers products. This one is unique. T are many sources available as you well know that you can get matches or replacements etc. You want find this one. Truly rare find in the Takahashi import family.
