SIZE: 13 INCHES LONG by 8-1/2 TALL Produced by Rosenthal in 1917 by Fritz Diller who was from 1913 - 1927 a free colleague of Rosenthal for figures and animals. Modeled by Diller after his famous bronze Bulldog produced in 1910. Known for his work depicting dogs, Diller modeled dog figures for the various Meissen related porcelain companies, KPM, Rosenthal, Royal Berlin, etc. Diller's name is impressed underneath the figurine along with the mold number 345. Diller was an amazing European artist who captured an animal's character. It is interesting to note that although it was produced during the 1st World War, Diller was influenced by the character of the British Bulldog. Condition is excellent. Note: No reserve on this extraordinary figurine.
