Napier produced a number of barware items in the 1930s including the famous penguin shaker. 's one you don't see in any of the books. Designed to mimic the sliding aparatus of the trombone, this shaker can "stir" your cocktail with an up and down motion (as you raise and lower the top knob) and then dispense it from the curved spout that turns and pops out of its housing. Napier silver plating isn't known for holding up well through the years, but this one is in amazing condition for its 73 years. No staining, pitting or any of the typical blemishes one usually sees in most Napier items. One very minor flaw is the original cork gasket add to the top lid is missing a small piece. I doubt this was ever used given the pristine condition of the bottom rim and interior. Two pieces as shown. Signed: "NAPIER PAT. PEND". An impressive 15.5" tall by 4.25" diameter.
