IS A VERY RARE ITEM, IT IS MOST LIKELY NATIVE AMERICAN, GIVEN THE REDWARE GLAZE AND THE FORM, WHICH IF HELD A CERTAIN WAY, APPEARS TO HAVE A TURTLE SHAPE.IT IS IS VERY FINE CONDITION GIVEN ITS ANCIENT AGE, WHICH IS CERTAINLY EXTEMELY OLD. IT APPEARS TO BE AN OIL LAMP, NOT A GRINDER OR BOWL, IT HAS ANCIENT PATINA INSIDE THE BOWL INDICATING MUCH USE AS SUCH. IT IS 9 1/4 INCHES LONG INCLUDING THE HANDLE ,OR "HEAD". IF YOU FIND THIS IS NOT NATIVE AMERICAN, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, AND I WILL RETURN YOUR MONEY. GOOD LUCK! (please see letter, I made a mistake, it is not glzed redware, it is the natural color of the clay)
